Modern Topics in Monetary Economics
This seminar covers current research in monetary economics and, more broadly, a wide range of subjects that are central for monetary policymakers to understand macroeconomic fluctuations. We will discuss both empirical and theoretical recent work. The goal of this seminar is to introduce relevant methods and familiarize students with important research questions in monetary and macroeconomic research.
The seminar will be organized as a semester-long course. Over the semester, lectures will provide an introduction to each topic and related methodology. Students are expected to prepare weekly reports on seminal papers which will be discussed during the course. At the end of the semester, students will have to hand in a seminar thesis.
